Pilot Program

I’m happy to say we have successfully completed our Fall Saturday Program! This five week session served as a pilot program and allowed me to test out the studio space and my small group teaching model. Class took place every Saturday from 11am - 12:30pm in my home studio. 6 elementary age students joined this program and were able to complete multiple finished pieces in the 5 session timeframe. We dabbled in many different mediums—from watercolor and acrylic paints to pastels and pencil drawing. While some projects were instructor-lead with a seasonal focus such as fall still life drawings, the students were still able to exercise creative freedom and explore subject matter of their choice. I enjoyed seeing the students’ imaginations at work and was impressed with their creativity on every project. Perhaps the best part of the small group teaching model was the camaraderie it allowed for amongst the students and the many laughs we shared as a class. I look forward to several of these students joining me for weekly after school lessons starting in November where they will continue to build on skills and techniques.
